History

In fertile lands of the Alta Mogiana region, renowned for a variety of high-quality coffee cultivated at a privileged altitude that enriches the flavor and aroma of coffee, our edition this month is Morada da Prata Farm, which is located in Batatais, 40km from Ribeirão Preto, state of São Paulo.
With a dry winter climate and lush vegetation including species such as copaiba oil, cinnamon, jequitibá and cedar, surrounded by a cultural tradition of Italian immigration, with an exuberant architecture and the largest collection of sacred works of art created by the brazillian artist Cândido Portinari, and gardening reminiscent of a European influence, ennobles the region with the most beautiful gardens.

Morada da Prata Rarm started its activities in 1879 when Henrique Dumont acquired Arindeúva Farm located 20km from Ribeirão Preto, state of São Paulo. Dumont invested in a number of innovations in production, making the most modern farm in South America with 5 million coffee trees, 96km of railroads and 7 locomotives, which made him known as the “King of Coffee.”
In 1894, Luis Dumont, one of the sons of Henrique Dumont, continued to produce coffee, until in 1926 he obtained the Morada da Prata farm in Batatais, state of São Paulo. With the great knowledge acquired by his father, Luis was able to maintain and expand the coffee business..

Morada da Prata Farm continues to apply innovative technologies mainly in the post-harvest, seeking to improve quality, respect and integration with nature, and maintain the 140-year tradition in coffee production.
